On the 10th anniversary of the fire, the Aurora United Church community visited the site where the 135-year-old historic Church once stood in the core of Downtown Aurora. The Dalton Company is the construction manager of a new, 32,000 sq. ft. Church featuring a six-storey, 30m-high glass tower.
The Dalton Company team led by Scott McIvor, Project Manager and William Dobson, Site Manager, will use its extensive experience constructing places of worship and new builds in dense, urban settings to deliver this modern Church to the Aurora community.
Featured on the front page of The Auroran— Aurora's Community Newspaper, William discussed the construction progress with exterior framing and concrete pouring anticipated for June. Currently, 50% of the steel installation has been completed with the north steeple and west side steel installation beginning next week.
The exterior of the Church, located on the corner of Yonge and Tyler, will feature a combination of steel, glass, EIFS and masonry with a metal roof. The interior will provide an abundance of space for parishioners including the main sanctuary, a social hall, youth area, nursery, kitchen, library, offices and an outreach centre.
