We are deeply saddened by the loss of Sonja Bata. We had the opportunity to develop a relationship with Mrs. Bata through our building and development partnership to rejuvenate the former Bata Shoe factory in Batawa, ON into a multi-use condominium building. Her devotion to design excellence, culture, and the environment was an inspiration to all of us.
As a building partner with the Batawa Development Corporation (BDC), we are committed to realizing Mrs. Bata’s vision of transforming Batawa into a vibrant, sustainable, well-designed community. We feel honoured to have worked with her to extend the Bata family legacy through this redevelopment project, which will establish a new standard for community design excellence in Canada.
