Current Opportunities
Marketing & Communications Manager

 

We are seeking an experienced B2B Marketing & Communications Manager to join our growing team. This role will develop and execute impactful marketing campaigns, manage our online presence, and produce high-quality content that engages our target audience. A key responsibility will be collaborating with the business development team to create compelling proposals that win new projects. The ideal candidate is a highly motivated and organized individual with excellent communication skills and an entrepreneurial mindset. This is a full-time in-office position.


Reports to: Director of Project Development
Direct Reports: Initially, this role will not have any direct reports.
Office Location: Head Office, Vaughan, ON

Key Responsibilities

 

Media & Communications

  • Develop and implement marketing and communication plans aligned with Dalton's strategic goals and ensure consistent messaging across all platforms.

  • Create engaging content for various channels, including the corporate website, social media, brochures, proposals, and presentations.

  • Create project/sector-focused content, case studies, and success stories that highlight expertise in construction.

  • Manage Dalton’s marketing & communications calendar

  • Track and analyze marketing campaign performance and provide regular reports.

  • Collaborate with internal teams to support their marketing needs, including site and project management.

  • Measure and report communications results to senior management for strategic meetings (ZOHO CRM, Google Analytics, Meta, Wix).

  • Create and distribute all external marketing communications, including newsletters, blog posts and project spotlights.

  • Ownership of all social media channels, including Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook and YouTube, posting regular content to showcase our projects and company initiatives.

  • Manage the content and oversee the distribution of the internal newsletter.

 

Proposal & Presentation Development

  • Collaborate with the business development team to develop high-quality, persuasive proposals that showcase the company's expertise and value proposition.

  • Write, edit, and proofread proposal content, ensuring clear, concise, and compelling messaging.

  •  Coordinate the collection of information and materials from various internal teams.

  • Develop and maintain proposal templates and best practices.

  • Ensure proposals are submitted on time and in compliance with client requirements.

  • Create Pitch Presentations to support the proposal process and provide coaching and direction to the assigned presentation team.

Events

  • Plan and execute external marketing events, conferences, and industry tradeshows.

  • Organize internal and external events, including Dalton’s Annual Trade Awards Reception, Trade Appreciation BBQs, and project-specific and internal team social events.

Other

  • Coordinate and organize all project photography and virtual tours (Matterport) with third-party photographer.

  • Regularly visit project sites to take photos and videos for marketing and communications content. 

  • Plan and coordinate the execution of branded promotional items, such as golf shirts, jackets, hard hats, safety vests, etc.

  • Manage the content and updates for the company intranet.

  • Design and coordinate print production of all project site signage.

  • Conduct any general duties, specific projects and responsibilities as assigned or required by the CEO in a timely and professional manner.

  • Stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices in marketing and communications.

 

Qualifications​

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field.

  • 5+ years of experience in marketing and communications, preferably within the construction industry.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Highly self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.

  • Strong understanding of digital marketing and social media strategies.

  • Experience with content creation, graphic design, and website management.

  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize effectively.

  • An understanding of the construction industry is an asset.

 

Technical Skills

  • Microsoft Office Suite

  • Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator).

  • Google Suite

  • CRM software (Zoho).

  • Procore Construction Management Software

  • Canva

  • Experience with BIM/3D Modelling software is an asset.

  • Photography and videography skills.

  • Knowledge of SEO and SEM best practices.

Quantity Surveyor/Senior Estimator

 

We are actively seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor/Senior Estimator to join our team and take on challenging and rewarding position with growth opportunities.


Ideally, this qualified individual is keen on becoming an essential member of a project team comprised of professionals­–including Architects, Engineers, Trade Contractors and Suppliers–to deliver some of the most challenging commercial building assignments in Ontario. Key Responsibilities
 

  • Prepare and evaluate construction and development drawings and specifications from information provided by architects, engineers and specialty consultants;

  • Provide advice on construction cost and strategic planning to clients, architects and specialty consultants;

  • Prepare elemental estimates from development drawings;

  • Prepare and interpret tender documents, specifications, general conditions, and other parts and forms of contracts;

  • Manage, administer and co-ordinate all types of construction and development projects, including contracts and sub-contracts, construction progress schedules, cost control systems, and work measurements;

  • Manage the procurement process during the pre-construction phase in accordance with the project's requirements;

  • Identify and negotiate with trade contractors and suppliers that are well-suited to deliver the needs of a project with guidance and oversight from the VP, Quantity Surveying;

  • Prepare, submit and manage progress invoices, valuation of changes and finalize contracts;

  • Prepare and submit construction estimates for construction and development work;

  • Develop and maintain benchmark data and unit rates from existing projects;

  • Work closely with the project team to evaluate value engineering options and make recommendations to capture cost efficiencies;

  • Attending Client presentation / design /client meetings as required.
     

Experience/Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in estimating and cost planning

  • The ability to generate detailed estimates for General Conditions

  • Experience with commercial projects

  • Able to work with minimal supervision

  • Member in good standing with CIQS or RICS

  • Experience using MS Excel, Word and Project​
